“They heard the sound of the LORD God moving about in the garden at the breezy time of day; and the man and his wife hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden./ The LORD God called out to the man and said to him, “Where are you?” ~Genesis 3:8-9*
Breeze of the evening
when Eternally Unfolding Presence
comes strolling as we so often for pleasure
do, calling out all that is hidden
within us—asking that forever echoing
first question—
“Where are you?”
How can we answer?
We so often stammer as we flee,
feeling the question pulsing through us
again, again in the seam of every day
between waking and sleeping
and sleeping and waking again?
