–Malchut/Shechinah sh’b Hod*
The cardinal couple—side by side—
are touching beaks. He dips
his ruby head, picks up a seed
and touches it to her opening mouth.
She accepts, bobbing her gilded
head and body toward
his fiery presence as he offers
another seed which she receives.
In just this way, you love feeding me.
Preparing my dinners every evening
you lean over the sauce pan, carefully
tasting for fullness of flavor,
accents of spice and aroma.
So intent on offering me
with all your love, this gift of life
which I gratefully receive.

*Indwelling Presence w/in Reception
This is a really sweet entry.

Not only a lovely poem, but I also appreciate your use of “reception” in this context.
