the messengers enlighten

to wake to the light, unbounded,
requires a hut of warmth
            an indwelling

spaciousness—to understand
this white expanse, assemblage
of crystals filled with blue

fire—impossibly held
outside the eye—give one moment
each waking hour

to gazing out, then to in-gazing’s
sacred collapse

swimming back
through the suffering
may blue fire surround you
may blue fire surround you

  1. Your poems are wonderful. Because my health is declining, I have been going through all the stuff in my house. I have two books by Judy Chicago, an extremely creative Jewish woman. I have The Dinner Party, and the companion book, The Dinner Party Needlework. If you would be interested in them, or if not, know someone you think might want them, please let me know and I will mail them to you.

    Thanks, Adair
