Omer Day 43-May to my children’s memories return

                            Chesed she’b Malchut/Shechina*
May to my children’s memories return
everything made of god-parts—
green juice of chewed leaf,
so many hungry mouths
arising and annihilated soon

or yesterday—so many breaks
in memory, stutters of loss,
no words in the gaps for what is
buried in earth-dark promises.
May we all turn green again.

May some jokey dance I care-free
lifted to my children’s memories
return when in their age
they too, lying down to earth,
might maybe smile at long

remembered silliness of light
and lively mama breathless
now but singing still, step-a-step
and little lively leap, may yes
we all be good, we all be true

to everlasting green-growing love.
